As a Licensed Professional Counselor, pastoral counselor, educator and someone who has experience working with people and animals in various settings, my experience is in celebrating the human-animal bond, specifically helping people who are healing from the loss of a pet. We know that pets are valued members of our families. It can be heartbreaking anytime we lose someone close to us, but embarrassment, shame, and confusion can further complicate the genuine grief of pet loss. When the grief isn’t acknowledged, the heart gets stuck and this, in turn, prevents us from truly living our best life. The beauty of healing from pet loss is that the energy once dominated by grief can now be redirected to serving and helping others. Please let me know how I can be of service to you on your journey in commemorating your beloved companion.
