Pet Bereavement Counselors:
Michigan
There are literally hundreds of people who are now counseling in pet bereavement, and it is not possible for the APLB to register them all. Some hesitate to be listed in any directory, others are first discovering the benefits of this wonderful service, and many more are still unknown to us. We welcome all new applicants to contact us directly by mail or online at aplb@aplb.org. This listing is arranged according to geographical location. We are pleased that every counselor registered here is a member of the APLB.

I have over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist, and a lifetime of pet love, loss, grief, and healing. I formed Centered Insight Healing as a private practice to provide psychotherapy in pet loss grief counseling in addition to my specialty areas of early childhood, infant mental health, and family therapy. The lack of therapy resources in the area of pet loss leaves many in an emotional state that is unique and often isolative, and this occurs especially acutely while making the decision to let a pet move on. My approach is to explore a person’s beliefs in spirituality, the meaning of their pet in their life, and purpose for their connection in life and afterward. I believe in The Rainbow Bridge for all animals who live on in our hearts.
My credentials include: Masters in Social Work (MSW), Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Infant Mental Health Specialist, Endorsed Level IV (IMH-E® (IV)) Centered Insight Healing, PLLC.
